Russian River

The heart of the region, the Russian River offers endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation. Bella Rio sits on a calm, shallow stretch, ideal for kids to splash and play, while deeper waters for swimming are just minutes away by kayak or paddle board.

For classic river fun, head to Johnson’s Beach in Guerneville or Monte Rio Beach, both open in summer with picnic areas and easy water access.

Nature lovers will also be delighted as blue herons glide over the water daily, while otters and deer often make an appearance along the riverbanks.

Monte Rio

A charming riverside town, Monte Rio offers a mix of history, nature, and local flavor. Catch a film at the Monte Rio Theater, a beloved small-town cinema, or play a round at Northwood Golf Club, a scenic 9-hole course designed by Alister MacKenzie.

For brunch or lunch, Lightwave Cafe is a must - especially their homemade pies, each as delicious as the next (say hi to Ori & Gal!). The Monte Rio Community Center features a brand new skate park and a rich community garden, making it a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike.
